AMFitzgerald RocketMEMS™ Program

A New Framework for MEMS Development
MEMS product development firm, AMFitzgerald & Associates, has selected Silex’s SmartBlock® approach to process integration for its RocketMEMS™ program, a new model for designer-foundry collaboration that enables rapid and cost-effective development of MEMS sensors.  Initially targeted for the pressure sensor market, the new program leverages decades of MEMS expertise by coupling Silex’s SmartBlock based process integration with AMFitzgerald’s extensive process and design expertise.  As a result of this industry-first program, new sensor designs can be executed in shorter time and lower cost than traditional full-custom engagements.

The program uses a manufacturing-friendly approach to MEMS development in which new sensors are designed specifically for Silex’s fab.  Customers would submit sensor specifications to AMFitzgerald, who in turn will generate customized sensor designs and create a multi-product wafer (MPW) implementation which will be run in Silex’s proven MEMS fab.

AMFitzgerald will begin signing customers for the first RocketMEMS pressure sensor multi-project wafer (MPW) run in early 2013 and expects to tape-out to Silex during the second quarter. For more information and to reserve a spot in the MPW run, contact AMFitzgerald.  Dedicated runs are also available.
